Prior to joining Vallarta, Robert Olguin built a career spanning over 35 years in the grocery industry, grounded in extensive experience in produce procurement and a commitment to excellence. His journey began in 1988 as a utility clerk at K.V. Mart Company, where his strong work ethic quickly set him apart. By 1989, he had stepped into the produce department, developing a deep understanding of the industry. His leadership and adaptability propelled him forward—he became a produce manager in 1991,
advanced to produce supervisor in 2001, and later earned a promotion to buyer in 2011. Just a year later, he achieved a major career milestone as Director of Produce Department at K.V. Mart. Although Robert initially pursued law enforcement classes at El Camino College, his passion for the grocery industry led him down a different path.

In June 2013, Robert brought his extensive industry knowledge to Vallarta Supermarkets, joining RPI Warehouse as a produce buyer while working with V&L Produce, Vallarta’s third-party provider at the time. His expertise in sourcing high-quality produce and building strong vendor relationships played a key role in Vallarta’s fresh produce success. In 2020, his contributions were recognized with a promotion to Senior Produce Buyer, further solidifying his impact on the company’s growth. When asked what
