The Sustainable Ranchers Tour will spotlight leading sustainable ranchers who are paving the way toward a regenerative future for America’s beef industry.
The day will begin at The Feed Store before traveling to Law Ranch and Lazy 3 Ranch for a firsthand look at grassland restoration, rotational grazing, virtual fencing and other approaches to improving ranch productivity and resilience. Attendees will return to Albany for lunch and discussions on grazing management, conservation programs, ranching heritage and sustainability across the beef supply chain.

Meet the Hosts: Law Ranch and Lazy 3 Ranch
Law Ranch
Founded in 1938, Law Ranch spans approximately 2,500 acres across Shackelford and Stephens counties. After years of continuous grazing, the ranch began a major grassland restoration effort in 2021 that included mesquite removal, native grass planting, prescribed burning and infrastructure improvements. Today, Law Ranch uses rotational grazing and Halter virtual fencing to manage a cow-calf operation with Purvis Cattle Company. The ranch also participates in several conservation initiatives and is certified through the Audubon Conservation Ranching Program.
Lazy 3 Ranch
Owned by the Musselman family since 1888, this 6,000-acre ranch sits near Albany in Shackelford County. After years of overgrazing, the family began restoring the property in 2018 through mesquite and prickly pear removal, prescribed burning and improved grazing management. Today, the ranch uses rotational grazing and Halter virtual fencing to manage a growing cow-calf herd of nearly 250 cattle. The family is also pursuing carbon and biodiversity credit opportunities.
