Speaker Bio
A third-generation cattle producer, Angie Stump Denton has spent three decades involved in cattle industry communications and marketing. Today she serves as the Drovers Editorial Leader.
Joining the Farm Journal team in February 2025, she guides content development for the beef cattle audience and provide solutions to enhance animal production, management best practices and profitability. Denton’s passion has always been the beef cattle industry, and she has a sincere drive to help beef producers become more profitable
Denton attended Kansas State University where she studied Ag Journalism and Animal Sciences and Industry. While at K-State, she attended her first LPC convention in 1994 and was named the 1995 LPC Forrest Bassford Student Award winner.
After interning with the Angus Journal, Denton joined the staff, working for 10 years from 1995 to 2004. She accepted the position of Hereford World Editor in 2004. Soon after, she added Director of Communications to her job description. Late in 2014 her job title changed once again, when editorial duties and Communications Director were made stand-alone jobs. Dynamic times in the expanding breed prompted rearranging of job duties within the organization.
The opportunity to move to the Hereford World in 2004 was “going home,” both figuratively and physically. Moving back to her family ranch, Springhill Herefords, she worked out of her home office.
A faithful K-State graduate, Denton joined the Animal Sciences and Industry department as Communications Coordinator in April 2016. At K-State she led the marketing and communications efforts for the ASI Department. Including managing the website, all social media channels and press releases for the department. She was also part of the recruitment team and enjoyed planning the annual K-State ASI Family & Friends Reunion and Stockmen’s Dinner. During her time at K-State she also served as the Beef Improvement Federation communication coordinator.
Denton served on the Livestock Publications Council board from 2005 to 2017 and is also past president of the organization. She has been recognized with the LPC Ed Bible Distinguished Service Award in 2003 and the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA) Excellence in Communications and Public Relations award in 2012.
She currently serves as chairman of the United Methodist Church trustees and is a Kansas Junior Hereford Association advisor. She served as a 4-H Community Leader for 15 years. Her favorite time is spent in the barn with her sons — Wes and Dustin who are fourth generation Hereford breeders.
Angie and her husband, John, reside in Blue Rapids, Kansas.
