Raised on an avocado and lemon farm, Giovanni Cavaletto has worked in all aspects of the avocado business over the last 30 years.
He was a founding member of the Hass Avocado Board after writing his thesis at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo on the importance of establishing a federal marketing order for avocados. He was also a founding member of the Mexican Hass Avocado Importers’ Association, the Colombian Avocado Board and was an officer of the Peruvian Avocado commission.
As CEO of GLC Cerritos, Mr. Cavaletto is helping to share the company’s Mission “To Inspire fellow agriculturalists by sustainably growing healthy food.” GLC Cerritos has been on its Sustainability journey since 2013. Since then, it has worked with Global G.A.P., Rainforest Alliance and Fair Trade. These are great platforms to share the good that our industry does in the communities where we work.
