About Our Host:

Loran Steinlage is a farmer at FLOLO Farms in northeast Iowa and a recognized leader in regenerative and systems-based agriculture. His work has centered on collaborating with equipment manufacturers, precision ag companies, and startups to develop and refine products under real farm conditions.

Steinlage began modifying equipment to support no-till, interseeding (since 2006), and relay cropping systems, which led to direct involvement in product development and field-scale testing. He has worked with companies to evaluate planter systems for multi-species delivery, precision technology integration, residue management tools, roller crimpers, and emerging automation platforms—providing practical feedback on performance, durability, and usability.

Through his role with AgVentures Alliance,AgLaunch, Steinlage helps connect manufacturers with farmers for structured, data-driven on-farm trials. His focus is on bridging engineering intent with field reality to accelerate product improvement and adoption.

He is a recipient of the Iowa Environmental Leader Award, No-Till Farmer Innovator Award, and the Leopold Conservation Award.
