ACAM 2022 Field Day Events

Learn about conservation practices and strategies from local farmer-innovators for improved
agronomy and soil health, resiliency from weather-extremes and healthier ecosystems.

These hands-on, in-the-field learning events are organized and led by the ACAM Conservation Steward farmer and their team of local farmers who have come together in 2022 to help share knowledge about conservation ag practices relevant to your farm and community. These farmer teams have graciously contributed their time to share their lessons learned (sometimes the hard way) so other farmers can benefit from these experiences and ultimately have more success with their own and unique conservation ag journey. Many of the farmer team members are ‘opening’ their farms for the field day and tour to showcase what conservation practices, programs and technologies they have utilized to become more sustainable with their operations.

We invite all farmers, trusted advisors, and conservation professionals to register and attend these field day events in your area. Each field day agenda is customized for soils, crops, natural resource issues and innovative sustainable ag solutions specific to that geography.

Help support your farming community by attending to learn how conservation practices can benefit your unique operation – both agronomically and financially – and to share your own ideas and experiences.
Every journey begins with a first step, and these field days cater to farmers at any point in their voluntary conservation journeys in the spirit of continuous improvement.

Participants will utilize a chartered bus for convenient transportation to 2 additional farms

Registration from 9:30 – 10 a.m
Programming 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Starting Location: Whitelock Community Farm, 930 Whitelock St, Baltimore MD

*Participants will utilize a chartered bus for convenient transportation to 5 area urban farms*
Lunch Provided

Thursday, June 30^th

Theme: Soil Health, Irrigation and Ag Technology

8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Registration from 8-8:30 am - Bus departs at 8:30 a.m.

Starting Location: Hoot’s BBQ, 2008 US 65, McGehee AR

Bus will arrive back at Hoot’s BBQ at approximately 12 after which lunch will be provided
*Participants will utilize a chartered bus for convenient transport to the 4 area farms*

Registration and Lunch from Noon-1 p.m.
Programming 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Starting Location: 1700 Old Stage Road, Salinas, California

Includes mechanical cultivation demonstration and autonomous robot demonstration with NAIO Technologies
and eligibility details about the USDA-NRCS Conservation Stewardship Program.
This program will be presented in Spanish with live English translation.
