Janice Reis Ciacci Zanella, is a veterinary doctor graduated from the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Master and Ph.D. in Molecular Virology from the University of Nebraska, USA. She is a researcher at EMBRAPA (Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation) in Animal Virology. She was recently selected as a member of the One Health High-Level Expert Panel (OHHLEP) of the WHO, OIE, UNEP and FAO. She participates in Brazilian Agriculture Ministry (MAPA)'s Technical Committee on Swine Health Programs and in OIE AdHocs committees such as Classical Swine Fever and African Swine Fever. She serves as chair in the OFFLU technical group on Swine Influenza (FAO, OIE, WHO). From 2008-2010 she served as a visiting scientist at NADC/ARS/USDA. From 2014 to 2021 she was the Director-General of Embrapa Swine and Poultry.
