Ryan Caffrey is vice president, feed grains product line, CHS, a position he has held since 2024. In his role, he manages risk for domestic and global feed grains, CHS ethanol plants, DDGS and ethanol trading groups that are part of the company’s agriculture business. His responsibilities include managing trade teams located in the grain producing regions of the United States, South America and the Black Sea region.

Prior to 2024, Caffrey served as vice president, wheat and specialty grain product line. Since joining CHS in 1998 as a grain merchandiser, he has held a series of leadership positions spanning wheat, barley, risk management and global trade, ultimately advancing to senior merchandiser, risk management. In that role, he was based in Merida, Mexico, where he led the merchandising department for the crushing and refining operations of Proteinas y Oleicos, a soybean and canola crushing and refining operation.

Caffrey serves on the boards of directors for CHS Broadbent, a joint venture between Broadbent, a grain marketing and supply chain joint venture in Australia, and serves as vice president of NAEGA, the North American Export Grain Association.

An Iowa native who grew up on a farm, Caffrey earned a bachelor’s degree in agricultural business and management from Iowa State University and remains active in his family’s farming operation.
