Annie Dee runs Dee River Ranch, Inc., a family owned and operated multi-commodity farm operation located near Aliceville in Pickens County, west-central Alabama. The operation produces corn and soybeans, with a heavy emphasis on conservation practices such as cover crops and no-till.
Annie has participated in Harvesting the Potential, a Howard G. Buffett Foundation program designed to promote conservation, no-till cultivation, and cover crops. She was also an ambassador for Invest An Acre, another Howard G. Buffett Foundation program.
Annie served on the United Soybean Board, is a “Soil Health Partner” with the USDA’s National Resource Conservation Service, and was a finalist in the 2016 Top Producer competition. She is a member of the National Corn Growers Association, and serves on the Alabama Soybean and Corn Association board, Alabama Wheat and Feed Grain board, West Alabama Food Bank board and Alabama Ag Credit board.
Annie is a graduate of Clemson University’s School of Agriculture.
She is married to Dr. Ed Sikora, an extension plant pathologist at Auburn University. She has three children, six grandchildren and Ed has two children. Her twin sons, Seth and Jesse, help on the farm.
Annie shares her diverse-sustainable farming and ranching operation with school groups, leadership groups, and local, state, national, and international groups.
