Speaker Bio
Scott Beck is President of Beck’s Hybrids, the largest family-owned, retail seed company in the United States and the third-largest retail seed brand overall. Founded in 1937 and headquartered in Atlanta, Indiana, Beck’s has grown from a small regional operation into a nationally respected agricultural leader. Today, the company serves farmers across a 20-state footprint that covers approximately 85% of U.S. corn and soybean acres, offering high-performing seed products and agronomic solutions backed by research and a deep commitment to farmer success.

A fourth-generation leader in the family business, Scott has been instrumental in Beck’s continued expansion while staying true to its independent roots. He is deeply committed to ensuring farmers have access to the choices and technologies they need to thrive, all while upholding the company’s purpose—to Honor God, Help Others and Help Farmers Succeed.

Scott has worked alongside his father, Sonny Beck, to grow Beck’s industry-leading Practical Farm Research (PFR) program—one of the most trusted sources of unbiased agronomic data in agriculture today. Designed to test products and practices in real-world conditions, PFR equips farmers with practical, science-based insights to improve profitability on their farms. Scott continues to champion this effort, ensuring that Beck’s delivers research that puts the farmer first—not just the bottom line.

He earned his undergrad degree in Agronomy from Purdue University and Master’s Degree and MBA from the Purdue-IU Kelley School of Business Dual degree program in Food and Ag Business. Scott has spent his career advocating for farmer-focused innovation and independent seed options. Under his leadership, Beck’s has continued to prioritize customer service, values-driven business practices, and strong relationships with the farm families it serves.

Family remains at the heart of Beck’s identity. His parents, Sonny and Glendia, and brother and sister, Tony and Kim remain active in the business. Now, members of the fifth generation, including three of Scott and wife, Shantel’s children, Corey, Chris, and Jason, as well as two nieces and their spouses, are involved in the company, carrying forward a legacy of family leadership, service, and innovation.

In addition to his role at Beck’s, Scott is active in both state and national agricultural organizations include AgriNovus Indiana (board member) and the American Seed Trade Association (central region Vice President) and regularly engages with policymakers to discuss issues impacting the agriculture industry, rural communities, and the future of farming. He looks forward to meaningful dialogue and partnership with public officials who share a commitment to supporting American agriculture.
