De Jong was named Chief Executive Officer and Executive Vice President of the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers (ASFMRA) in September 2025. In this role, she leads all aspects of the organization’s work, including operations, strategic direction, member services, and industry relations.
De Jong brings more than 20 years of experience leading teams and developing operational and policy strategies across the private, public, and nonprofit sectors. Most recently, she served as Head of Government Affairs for Pivot Bio, an emerging leader in nutrient technology. From 2017 to 2020, she was the State Executive Director of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Iowa Farm Service Agency, where she oversaw the implementation of billions of dollars in agricultural loans, price support, and conservation payments to Iowa’s farmers and landowners. Earlier in her career, she held leadership positions with Landus Cooperative, the Iowa Corn Growers Association, the U.S. Senate, and USDA.
A passionate advocate for agricultural education and leadership development, De Jong founded Young Professionals in Agriculture—a nonprofit organization connecting young people in the industry through networking, philanthropy, and lifelong learning. She served as the organization’s first president and helped expand its chapters nationwide. Active in her community, De Jong serves on the Marshall County Farm Bureau Board and the Iowa State University Alumni Association Board of Directors. She also volunteers her time with St. Joseph’s Parish, the West Marshall FFA Chapter, the Iowa State Ag Business Club, the Iowa Corn Growers Association, and Agriculture Future of America. De Jong and her husband, Ryan, along with their two sons, co-own and operate Eden Ridge Farms—a cattle, hay, and row crop operation near Rhodes, Iowa. They are also co-owners of Intelligent Ag, an independent crop consulting business.
