Joe, a fourth-generation farmer, grew up cultivating crops in the high desert under the guidance of his father and grandfather. In 2017, he began exploring regenerative agriculture through a series of unconventional crops, starting with industrial hemp. His hands-on approach to shaping both state and federal legislation has been instrumental in advancing Nevada’s hemp industry and other agricultural initiatives. These include implementing an interactive agricultural education experience at Nevada’s oldest agricultural festival, advocating for the hiring of agriculture educators in his county’s schools to enhance classroom learning, and serving on the county planning commission to maintain a balance between agricultural preservation and economic growth.

Joe, alongside his partner Adrienne Snow, operates Western States Ag, Nevada’s longest standing and most respected hemp cultivation company. Additionally, he collaborates with Norman Frey at Rambling River Ranches to produce Nevada’s first regeneratively grown, certified weed-free forage. He is also a founding partner of Element Original, an innovative brand that transforms their farm’s commodities into premium forage and supplements, naturally improving the lives of animals.
Beyond his agricultural endeavors, Joe holds a degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and enjoys a thriving career as a corporate pilot.
