Speaker Bio
Jordan Hansen is Financial Operations Manager and Brand Manager at Hansen’s Dairy, a family-owned farm and creamery in Hudson, Iowa.
A native of Decorah, Iowa, Jordan graduated from Wartburg College in Waverly in 2003 with a degree in journalism and graphic design. Shortly after, she married Blake Hansen in 2005, just as the 150-year-old farm was embarking on its venture into the on-farm creamery business. The family milks 150 cows; farms 400 acres; produces milk, cheese curds, butter and ice cream; operates three retail stores; and offers farm tours.
Jordan began her professional career as a graphic designer and copy editor for the Waterloo Courier newspaper, where she worked until 2009, when she transitioned to working on the farm. She has two children, Reese (15) and Beckett (12), who keep her busy when she’s not managing the farm’s day-to-day operations.
At Hansen’s Dairy, Jordan plays a multifaceted role. She keeps the farm’s financial records, designs marketing materials, manages the website and social media presence, and is often found giving tours to visitors. Jordan is also involved in the broader agricultural community as a member of the Silos and Smokestacks National Heritage Area’s Partnership Panel, working to preserve and promote the rich agricultural history of the region, and has served on her county’s Iowa State University Extension Council.
