Mela Buzzetta is a Senior Sustainable Fuels Consultant for Southwest Airline’s Fuels Strategy & Management team. Her team supports our sustainability and decarbonization goals related to SAF. We help shape SAF policy internally and externally, assess SAF offtakes/investments for viability and alignment with our SAF portfolio, and negotiate and manage executed SAF offtakes for Southwest. Mela was a process engineer and project manager at engineering, procurement, and construction management firms in energy for over 16 years before joining Southwest where she successfully executed all types and sizes of projects ranging up to $1 billion in capital investment with heavy focus on petroleum, sustainable, and renewable fuels facilities.
