Matt Clark joined Terrain Ag in July of 2022. Prior to Terrain Ag, Matt served as a senior industry analyst with American AgCredit. While at American AgCredit his primary responsibilities included providing macroeconomic analysis, with special emphasis on interest rates, and commodity analysis on wine grapes, field crops, dairy, beef, permanent plantings, and forest products. Matt also chaired or served on various risk, model, and commodity committees. Prior to working at American AgCredit, Matt worked at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City as an assistant economist. In that role he researched the effects of changes in agricultural markets, interest rates and macroeconomic factors on community banking activity and the broader economy. He also worked extensively on the Ag Credit Survey and Ag Finance Databook. Matt received Bachelor’s of Science and Master’s of Science degrees in agricultural economics from Kansas State University. His passion has always been economics, and he and his family live on a small acreage outside the same rural community where he was raised. When Matt is not working, he is typically attending one of children’s events, serving at his local church, hunting upland birds, trying to catch giant catfish, or helping his son grow giant pumpkins.
