1976 graduate of California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, with an Agriculture degree in Crop Science. Jim spent 20 years raising Snow Peas and Bell Peppers on his farm, transitioning to growing oranges in 1987. In 2002, he created a bagged orange product, “Cayucos Summer Oranges”, which sold throughout Southern California in Albertson’s and Vons Supermarkets until 2020. In 2018, Jim expanded the operation to include sixteen acres of Hass avocados on two different Rootstocks, Toro Canyon and Dusa. Drawing on decades of agricultural experience, he produces high-quality fruit on the California’s Central Coast. Jim focuses on practical, science-based farming practices, with an emphasis on efficient irrigation, soil health. pest management and pruning his orchard. He values learning from fellow growers and sharing knowledge that helps strengthen California’s Avocado industry
