Francisco Contardo Sfeir is Executive President of Avocados from Chile, the industry association representing Chilean avocado growers, marketers and exporters. He joined the organization in December 2017, first serving as General Manager and later as Executive Director, before assuming his current leadership role. He is a business engineer and holds a Master’s Degree in Sales from Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez. Francisco also serves as Vice President and Director of the Chilean Avocado Importers Association (CAIA) in the United States and is a member of the Water Positive Think Tank. Throughout his career, he has played a key role in strengthening the international positioning of the Chilean avocado industry, with a focus on consolidating and opening new markets for Chilean avocados, highlighting their quality and the sustainability of their production. He has also led efforts to advance the sector’s sustainability roadmap, aligned with the United Nations 2030 Agenda.
