Manuel Michel has over 25 years of experience in the agricultural sector, with a focus on issues impacting the produce industry.
He currently serves as Managing Director of the Colombia Avocado Board, a role he has held since July 2023. He previously served as Executive Director of the National Mango Board from 2014 to 2023 and as a Marketing Order Specialist with the USDA Agricultural Marketing Service from 2011 to 2014. In these roles, he has accumulated more than 15 years of experience overseeing and managing USDA commodity boards.
Manuel is a licensed attorney with the State Bar of Texas since 2008 and practiced law for three years as a managing associate attorney. Earlier in his career, he worked in quality assurance, food safety, and third-party Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) audits in California.
He holds two undergraduate degrees from Oregon State University and a Juris Doctor from Texas Tech University.
