Ben Smith, 32, of Bealeton, VA owns and operates Cool Lawn LLC. an 800-cow registered Holstein milking herd consisting of 16 employees and a 32,000 Rolling herd average. Ben is a Maryland and Virginia Milk Producers Cooperative Association producer. Additionally, Ben owns and operates Three Leg Grain and Hay, a hay and row crop operation producing quality hay primarily for equestrian use. Ben graduated from Virginia Tech in 2012 with a degree in Agriculture Technology. He is a graduate of the Young Dairy Leader Institute. Currently, he serves on Farm Credits Young Beginning and small farmer committee, Fauquier Farm Bureau young farmers chairperson, and is a board member of Citizens for Fauquier County. Ben and his wife Dana enjoy snowboarding.
