David Hula is a third-generation farmer at Renwood Farms, Inc., located in Charles City, Virginia, where he and his family manage approximately 4,000 acres. He began his farming career alongside his grandfather and father, and today continues the legacy with his two brothers and son.

David is widely recognized for his achievements in corn production, having surpassed the 400, 500, and even 600 bushel-per-acre thresholds—setting multiple national records in the process. His success extends beyond corn, with proven advancements in soybeans and small grains, consistently reaching yields in the 90s and mid-100s.

Before returning full-time to the family farm, David worked as a nutrient management specialist for the Virginia Department of Soil and Water Conservation. There, he gained valuable insights into local farming systems, university research, and private industry practices—all of which have informed the intensive management strategies now used at Renwood Farms, especially in their seed production for soybeans and small grains.

David attributes his success to the grace of God and the strength of the team around him. He is deeply passionate about helping other farmers break through their own yield barriers by applying the principles, discipline, and continuous learning that have shaped his journey in high-yield agriculture.
